144 High Street
Brick and concrete building with English Bond and mortar bonding. The roof is painted concrete, and flat, with no chimneys. There is a double door recessed glass-paned entrance on the ground floor. It is flanked on either side by two single plate floor-to-ceiling shop windows. The upper floor has five windows, All are divided into a short upper casement and a lower, longer fixed window. The windows are decoratively divided into panes of varying size. The central window has three main panels while the outer windows have two panels. The upper floor is cornered by concrete blocks, alternatively long and short. The three central windows are contained by one of these cornerings, while the outer windows are also cornered on each edge of the building. There is a pediment with brick of a different colour from the windowed upper floor, perhaps suggesting a different age of construction.
