Spencer Market Hall, Castlegate Shopping Centre
This is a large, mostly hollow, three storey hall with a large central concrete service elevator and surrounding first floor balcony that leads to the upstairs multi-storey car park. It was constructed in the late 60s early 70s, as part of the Castlegate Shopping Centre, opening by at least 1973. The walls are constructed of modern brick, concrete and covered in render. Spencer Marker Hall originally spanned the entirety of its roof span, though now it is roughly half the size, being replaced by more commercial units.
There are three double entrances that lead onto the high street, surrounded by large paned windows on the ground floor. The roof is steeply hipped and topped with slate. There are Five tall dormers are found on each of the four elevations with large paned glass windows within them.
