78-82 Norton Road (Victoria Terrace)

Building is a block of three two-storey houses constructed in brick The construction of the front is in Flemish bond and the north side wall is English garden wall bond. and a slate hipped roof with a variety of pots. Number 78 has four twelve-pane sash windows on the ground floor and five sash windows on the first floor. These are probably the original style of windows. Numbers 80 and 82 have four sash windows on the ground floor and five sash windows on the first floor. There is also evidence of four blocked-up basement windows. All the windows have brick lintels and there are stone stringer courses below the windows.

There is a stone cornice and parapet below the roof. All have a pillared porch. The North wall has a full height rear extension. The original building has two sash windows on the ground and first floors with stone stringer below the windows at sill level.

The rear extension is in modern painted brick, has a door and appears to have three windows on the first floor and the same on the second floor. This extension seems to be of three floors compared to the two floors of the old building.

Number 78 has a small extension to the ground floor in modern brick and an even smaller extension to the first floor with a small casement window. Number 78 has two windows plus a fifteen-pane added window on the first floor and a door leading to a fire escape. Number 78 has a garden whereas 80 and 82 have a car park in front. Number 78 has a pillared gateway and iron fencing as does 80 and 82, but 82 has a brick pillared entrance to the car park on the North Side. Number 80 has a full height three-storey extension although some older brickwork is visible on the South wall. A dormer window is partly visible in the roof. There are four small windows on the second floor, four small windows on the first floor and three windows and a door on the ground floor. Number 82 has four small windows on the second floor and four small windows on the second floor.
