68 Dovecote Street
This is a domestic building, converted to a shop. The building is constructed of brick, Flemish bond, with mortar bonding. The roof is ridged, covered with concrete tiles. There is an extended brick chimney stack, which suggests that the former Post Office next door post-dates this building. The stack is in coloured brick (apart from the extension) and there are no pots. There is one single entrance door, adjacent to a large shop window which projects slightly from the front building line.
Upstairs there is a six-pane bay window, constructed in UPVC, with a felted roof. There are ornate brickwork quoins to the East side, with ornate brickwork in yellow and red diamonds underneath the roof. There is also a roof of corbels under the roof level. The building appears to be part of a block, including 70 and 72.
On the North side, the rear of the building, there is an extension shared with no 70, at right angles to the main building. This appears to be original. It has a ridged roof, covered with slate. This extension has a number of blocked windows and doors. The rear of the main building has a blocked window at first floor level, with brick lintel.
