37 to 39 North Terrace Norton Road

A three storey brick and mortar building of Flemish bond. It has a gabled slate roof with no chimneys. At the front elevation there are two single entrances, one at ground and one at basement level. The ground floor entrance is approached by nine stone steps. The basement has two sash windows, ground floor has three sash windows , and the first floor has four sash windows. All these windows have lintels of vertical bricks. In addition there is a dormer window containing four large and two small (opening) panes.

The basement is accessed down four brick steps via a single gate on the far right hand side. The main entrance door (ground floor) is flanked by tapered stone pillars with scrolled capitals and a rectangular decorative pediment. Two stone string courses run between the basement and ground floor, and the ground and the first floor. A row of stone corbels run under the eaves.

There is a 20th century three storey extension to the rear elevation of brick and mortar construction in all stretchers arrangement. The extension, which was built as business/office accommodation, has a flat roof. There are two single entrances which are fire exits. To the floor are two large two paned casement windows and one single paned non-opening window. To the second floor there is one two paned casement window (side opening first), one single paned casement window and one single paned non-opening window. There is also a dormer window in the roof of the original 18th century building. There is one extractor fan in the middle of the wall between ground and first floors. There is one metal flue pipe running up the middle of the rear elevation wall and one plastic drain pipe down the right hand side with a top hopper.
