3-9 Yarm Lane

This is a three storied building with a concrete frame in filled with beige brick. Running along the top of all sides of this building are mock crenulations surmounted by a wooden guard rail. The roof is flat. The ground floor of this building is currently occupied by three separate commercial entities, and as such has shop fronting along its entirety. This consists of one double and three single entrances, and a total of ten galleried windows.

The top two floors are standardised with ten casement windows on each floor. These windows consist of three panes, one which opens, and have a painted panel beneath.

To the rear elevation is very similar stylistically with the exception of the ground floor protruding extension built of dark brick in a basic stretcher. On the ground floor there are eight standard windows protected by metal grilles. There are also two single entrances. Behind this extension it is still possible to see part of the original ground windows as they extend above the line of the extension. There are four of these windows, and an additionally window that is now bricked. These are also protected by metal grilles. On the top two floors there are five windows each which are identical to those on the front of the building. On the far left of each floor there is a single entrance which is linked to each other, and the ground via a metal staircase. These are presumably fire exits.

It is possible to see two chimneys incorporated in this building, however it is highly unlikely that a building as modern as this would have need for chimneys. The likely hood is that the chimneys have been extended to the height of this building but belong to the neighbouring building. There is a rear extension at the far left (as viewed from the front) that consists of four stories. It is built of the same beige brick and concrete format. The ground floor does not extend the full length of the building and recesses approximately four metres. There is a single entrance on the ground floor and there is a staircase shaft running from the centre to the left.

The first and second floors are identical. They have four windows each, the outer two are square with two panes, whilst the inner two are rectangular with three panes. The top floor has two square singular paned windows in the top right and top left hand sides. The roof of this extension is flat.
