22 High Street

This is a three storey building of painted brick with a Flemish bond. The bonding material is unknown due to the paint. The roof is ridged slate with no chimneys and possesses a stone parapet, with a wooden fascia board under the guttering. There is one single entrance on the ground floor that is part of a mock Victorian shop front. There is a sash bay window on the first floor and the centre section has four panes of glass. This is flanked on either side by two, two paned sections of glass. There is decorative wooden panelling beneath the bay window just above the shop front. The second floor has one, four paned sash window with a stone sill and lintel. There is a blocked alley to the side of the building which has a set back first floor above it, with a two paned casement. The front of the blocked alley has an attached notice board. There are two casement windows at the alley side of the building on the first and second floors, each with two panes of glass except for one window towards the rear which has nine panes. One has a brick lintel while the other has a lintel of concrete on each floor. There is a blocked in window towards the attic with a stringer course above it. This appears to be where a flat roofline has been attached. There is a rearward extension set at a right angle to the entire block which runs to the rear of the plot. This partially extends to the rear of the alley. The roof is tiled and ridged. One the ground floor there are two casement windows; one has six panes of glass while the other is blocked by air conditioner units. The first floor has two sash windows with four panes each. All windows have bars over them. To the side of the extension is a slight parapet. The rear wall is rendered and has one, two paned casement window.
