16 Church Road
This is a three storey building of a yellow brick and mortar construction, with Flemish bonding. It has a twin gabled tiled roof. There are two transverse rectangular brick and mortar chimney stacks. There is one central single entrance to the front elevation with concrete steps up.
The ground floor has four rectangular sash windows. There is a fanlight above the central entrance. The first and second floors have five rectangular sash windows. The lintels on each of the floors are different in style. The central first floor window has an elaborately designed arch above the lintel. A string course, with corbels, runs under the second floor windows. Running under the eaves is a course of ‘egg and dart’ decoration.
The entrance door has a heavily decorated surround with wooden columns to either side. There is a single triangular pediment, decorated with scroll and flute patterns, at the top of the façade with low horizontal extensions. There are vents between the windows on the second floor. Cast iron drainpipes run down both the left and the right hand side of the building, with the hoppers located above the windows on the second floor.
The foot of the building has a decorative stone plinth which continues under the ground floor windows. The right hand elevation is of rendered brick construction. On each of the ground and first floor there is one two-paned sash window towards the rear of the building.
