147 High Street
This is a three storey building which has been rendered in concrete and painted to create the impression of stone blocks. It has a flat roof of unknown material. There is one transverse rectangular chimney stack on the left hand side which has been sealed off.
The ground floor shop front has been extended into the high street to protrude beyond the original building façade. On the front elevation there is a central double entrance. On the ground floor there are large rectangular plate glass windows to either side of the doorway, extending the whole of the shop front.
On the first floor there are five rectangular casement windows with decorative bars. The second floor has five rectangular eight paned windows; the top two panes open from the top. All first and second floor windows have decorative sills and lintels. There is a decorative cornice between the second floor windows and the roofline. There are also decorative pilasters down either side of the front elevation. The left hand side elevation is of the same fabric as the front elevation, with a left hand single entrance present.
On the ground floor the bay window extends from the front elevation across much of the left hand side, also projecting forward of the original building line. To the left of this there is a two storey protrusion, appearing to be the same building fabric, which extends into the adjacent property. In this is a single barred arched window, with an arched lintel. Above this, on the first floor, there is a four paned sash window with a sill. On the right hand wall of the protrusion is a small single paned square window. On the first floor of the original wall is a rectangular window. On the second floor a four paned sash window is present with sill.
