11 Yarm Lane

This building shows signs of various extensions. On the front elevation the walls are of brick, of English garden wall with a mortar bond. There is also a wooden panelling evident underneath the windows on the ground floor. There is a single entrance which has a porch supported by two wooden columns. There is also a double door located on the corner of this building which is visible on both the front and side elevations. Framing the single door are two bay windows, consisting of six panes each. To the right of these are four two paned windows. There are three sculpted wooden decorative features present at the side and in the centre of the windows previously mentioned.

On the first floor there are five PVC windows with two panes. There is also a sign present between the third and forth window. To the right of this sign there appears to be a filled in line of the wall which suggests that the two sides of the building are not contemporary. This theory is further supported by the architectural façade of the ground floor.

Although both have wooden panelling it is of a different style, as are the windows. The roof is tiled in slate with a half hipped profile. There is one definite chimney which is notably in line with the possible division as previously mentioned. There are two chimneys on the far left hand side of the building that are built into the neighbouring building. The roof on the left hand side is shortened creating a step in the top of the building. It is likely that this is a later modification. The side elevation is English garden wall for two thirds of the building from left to right. The right third of the building is of a basic stretcher bond and is built of a more modern brick.

On the ground floor it is possible to see the corner facing double door as mentioned above. Further to this there are two single two paned windows boarded by wooden faux pillars that are topped by the wooden decorative architectural feature as previously mentioned. All these features mentioned are within the older section of the wall. Within the newer section of the wall there are two single doors, one of which is recessed. On the top floor there are two windows, one in the earlier part of the wall and one in the latter. Both of these consists of two panes and have stone sills. The roof is hipped and made of slate. The rear elevation seems to be a entirely modern extension as evidenced by the modern brick type and by map research conducted.

There is no access to the building from the ground floor. There are numerous air vents within the wall suggesting that this is the cellar. There is a recessed terrace on the first floor that is accessible from within the building. Along this terrace is one single door and three visible windows.

There is a further window that is situated within the wall along the recession. The roof is of slate with a half hipped profile on the left hand side with a roof projecting forward. The right of the roof is stepped, a feature mirrored from the front elevation. Within the roof there is a skylight present.
