11 Finkle Street

This building dates from 1877 according to the inscription. To the front elevation all edges and window trims are quoined with stone and render. It is constructed of bricks and mortar in English Garden Wall. The ground floor contains one single entrance, one vertical sash, and one bay window comprising a total of five vertical sashes. The first and second floors have two bay windows comprising a total of 8 vertical sashes each. The eaves are also of decorative stone and render. There is a carving of a crest. The crest depicts the initials ‘D&Co’. The east side elevation is divided by a large modern conservatory style extension that formed part of a restaurant that is now closed. To the south of the extension the building is constructed of brick and mortar English Garden Wall and part rendered. There is an external roofed staircase leading to a single first floor entrance. There are also four vertical sash windows to the first and second floor. There is also a vertical sash window on a mezzanine levels (possibly staircase).

The northern side of the extension is built of brick and mortar in English Garden Wall with some older stone rubble on the ground floor at the northern corner. There is a single entrance in the modern conservatory extension on the ground floor. To the first floor there is one vertical sash window. On the second floor there are five vertical sash windows. The second floor as three vertical sash windows. To the rear elevation was built in two stages, the ground floor is 18th century and is built in brick and mortar in English Garden Wall and the upper wall was constructed of larger bricks and built in the 19th century. There are two single entrances on the ground floor. There are two vertical sash windows on the first floor. The roof is gable top with slate. Upon the top there are decorative ridge tiles.
