Stockton Young People go to Auschwitz

On January the 27th each year the world remembers those who lost their lives in the Holocaust.

This date was chosen as it was the day that the largest of the death camps, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated.

In 2015 IT IS THE 70TH Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz’.  A group of young people from Stockton have themselves made the journey to Auschwitz funded by the Museums Archives and Libraries Council.

There they made a film, ‘Pamiatec’ – Polish for ‘Remember’ – about their experiences and understanding of the Holocaust which led to the death of over ten million people, the majority of whom were Jews.
