44 Norton Road

Two storey brick building with a ridged tiled roof in English bond. The North west corner has stone quoins. The front elevation is painted. The ground floor has a large modern shop front with central glass door. The first floor has three two paned windows probably formerly sash windows but not now. They have stone lintels and cills.

The North wall is brick but the top shows some evidence of modern replacement brickwork. The wall is painted white to about eight feet up and also shows evidence of a partial shop front bricked up with fascia still present.

The South gable wall also shows some evidence of repair with an extra layer of a buff brick covering part of the gable end. The rear is plain brick with a single two pane window at second floor level and similar window between first and second floors and another at first floor level. There has been a similar window at ground floor level but this is now covered by the extension. There are five small corbel like protusions under the eaves and probably one missing. These windows all have brick lintels and stone cills. There is a single storey modern brick extension to the rear with a flat felted roof. There are a series of high windows along the length of the north wall of the extension and a roller shutter door on this wall.

There is a door to the rear of the extension. The building does not extend the full width of the plot, allowing space for a van to park at the rear.
