29 North Terrace Norton Road

This three storey town house, constructed of brick and mortar in Flemish bond. It has a gabled slate roof, with a small skylight window. There is one transverse rectangular brick chimney stack with five clay pots of 3 different designs. The stack is shared with property number 31. There is no entrance to the front elevation. To each floor there is one sash window, with vertical brick lintels, which are located in the middle on the front elevation. A stone string course runs the width of the building under the ground and 1st floor windows. Under the eaves is a row of corbels. A stone plaque is inserted into the middle of the wall on the left hand side, which displays ‘North Terrace’. The property is bounded by a wrought iron fence on top of a low brick wall. The left hand side elevation is also constructed of brick and mortar, in Flemish bond. Under the right hand side basement window the brick coursing changes to rows of all stretchers and two rows of all headers. There is one single entrance in the centre of the building at ground floor level approached by nine stone steps. The door is flanked stone tapered pilasters with scroll capitals. There is also a rectangular pediment above the door. At the basement and ground level there are two sash windows, the left basement window has a stone sill. To the first floor there are three similar sash windows. A row of corbels run along the width of the elevation under the eaves. A stone string course runs the width of the building under the ground and first floor windows. A drainpipe runs down the left hand side, across from this to the door at 1st floor level. The rear elevation is also of brick and mortar construction, of Flemish bond. There is one single entrance at first floor level which is a fire escape. There are no visible windows.
